How many porta potties do I need for a party or event?
A party or event needs 1 porta potty per 50 guests for up to 4 hours. Add units as the event runs longer: 1 per 35 guests for 5 to 8 hours, and 1 per 25 for longer. Add 1 unit for every 4 when alcohol is served. A 100-guest, 3-hour birthday party needs 2 units.

When are event porta potties delivered and picked up?
Event porta potties are dropped off the day before the event or the morning of it, and picked up the next business day. A Saturday event usually gets a Friday drop-off and a Monday pickup. Saturday morning drop-off is also available. The extra days are included, so the price is the same.
Worried about a unit sitting in a public park overnight? Ask for a padlock hasp or a Saturday-morning drop. For multi-day events such as fairs and rodeos, we schedule service each night or early morning.
Do I need a permit for porta potties at a Cortez event?
A private party on private land in Cortez does not need a restroom permit. Events in city parks, on streets or open to the public use the City of Cortez special event application, and county events go through Montezuma County. The permit office may ask how many restrooms you will have, so book units before you apply.

Questions before you book
Can I rent a porta potty for just one day?
One-day event rentals are available. The price covers drop-off the day before or morning of, and pickup the next business day, so you are not paying extra days.
What if my party gets rained out?
Call as soon as you know. Moves made 48 hours or more before delivery are free. If the unit is already delivered, it stays and you can still use it for a rescheduled date that same week.
Do event units come with toilet paper and sanitizer?
Event units arrive with full toilet paper rolls, spare rolls and a filled sanitizer dispenser. Large events can ask for an extra case of paper to keep on hand.
Should I get one unit for men and one for women?
Two units labeled men and women work well for 50 to 100 guests. Women's lines move more slowly, so for bigger events put more units on the women's side or leave all units unlabeled.
Do you supply units for events on the Montezuma County Fairgrounds?
Event organizers renting space at the Montezuma County Fairgrounds book extra units for crowds, campers and stock areas. Confirm the fairgrounds' existing restroom count with the fair office, then fill the gap with porta potties.
How close to the party should the units be?
Place event units 50 to 100 feet from food and seating, downwind if possible, with a clear lit path. Keep them reachable for our truck within 25 feet.
