How many restrooms does a wedding need?
A wedding needs 1 restroom per 50 guests for up to 4 hours and 1 per 35 guests for 5 to 8 hours, plus 1 for every 4 when there is a bar. A 150-guest, 6-hour reception with a bar needs 7 porta potties: 5 for guests and length, plus 2 for the bar. A two-stall trailer counts as about 2 units.
| Guests | Ceremony only (2–3 hrs) | Reception, 6 hrs, bar |
|---|---|---|
| 75 | 2 | 4 |
| 100 | 2 | 4 |
| 150 | 3 | 7 |

Hold restrooms for your wedding date
June to September weekends book first. Call to reserve.
(970) 239-2060Should you pick a restroom trailer or flushing porta potties for a wedding?
Pick a restroom trailer when the venue has a 20-amp outlet within 100 feet, level ground and guests in formal wear. Pick flushing porta potties with sinks for remote ranch and mesa-top sites with no power. Both have flushing toilets and hand washing; the trailer adds running water, mirrors, lighting and heat.
Where should wedding restrooms go at a ranch or backyard venue?
Wedding restrooms should sit 75 to 150 feet from the dance floor and dinner tables, on level ground, with a lit path and the doors facing away from the ceremony view. Keep them reachable for the truck. Ranch venues around Mancos and Dolores often place them beside the barn or parking area.
- String lights or solar stake lights along the path
- A small basket with hand lotion and a mirror for flushing units
- One standard unit for caterers and band near the service area
- One wheelchair-accessible unit if any guest needs it
Questions before you book
How far ahead should I book wedding restrooms?
Book wedding restrooms as soon as the date and venue are set. Restroom trailers for June to September Saturdays are often reserved months ahead. Porta potties are easier to add later.
Can the restrooms be delivered on the wedding day?
Restrooms can be delivered the morning of the wedding, but most couples choose the day before so the planner can see the setup. There is no added charge for the earlier drop-off.
Do you decorate wedding porta potties?
We deliver units clean and stocked. Many couples add a small sign, flowers or a basket of extras. Please do not tape or screw anything to the unit walls.
Can you deliver to a ranch with a dirt road?
Ranch venues with dirt roads are common around Cortez and Mancos. Send a photo of the road and gate. Porta potties travel on most dry ranch roads; restroom trailers need a firmer path.
What if it snows or freezes for a fall wedding?
Late fall weddings after mid-October can see freezing nights. Choose a heated restroom trailer with power on all night, or standard units with antifreeze in place of flushing units.
