What does an itemized porta potty quote include?
An itemized porta potty quote lists six lines: the unit and rental period, delivery, pickup, any weekly or extra service, any trip charge for your ZIP, and sales tax. The quote states whether the price is per event or per 28-day cycle. Nothing is added after you approve it unless you add units, days or service.
- Unit type, quantity and the rental period (event or 28-day cycle)
- Delivery and pickup (shown together or as two lines)
- Service visits included, and the price of any extras
- Trip charge if your site is beyond the Cortez zone
- Same-day charge, if one applies
- Sales tax
What changes the price of a porta potty rental?
Five things change the price of a porta potty rental: distance from Cortez, the unit type, the dates and length, how often it is serviced, and how many units share the trip. A standard unit in town for a weekend costs the least. A trailer for a Saturday in July at a remote ranch costs the most.
| Factor | Lower price | Higher price |
|---|---|---|
| Distance | Cortez, Lewis, Dolores, Mancos | Telluride, Bluff, Aztec (trip charge) |
| Unit type | Standard | Flushing, accessible, trailer |
| Dates | Weekday, booked ahead | Holiday weekend, same day |
| Service | Weekly (included) | Extra visits, attendant |
| Quantity | Several units on one trip | Single unit far out |
How can you lower the cost of a porta potty rental?
Book early for summer weekends, choose standard units for crews and back areas, and share one delivery trip across several units. A flushing unit with a built-in sink often costs less than a standard unit plus a separate hand washing station. Ending a long-term rental the day the job ends stops the next 28-day cycle.
Porta potty cost questions
Why do porta potty quotes vary so much between companies?
Quotes vary because some companies list the unit price first and add delivery, pickup, fuel, card and tax lines at checkout. Compare the out-the-door total for the same unit, dates and service, not the first number you hear.
Is it cheaper to rent two units than one?
The unit price is the same, but the second unit shares the same delivery trip, so the cost per unit drops. Events of 3 or more units often see a lower trip charge per unit.
Do I get money back if I return the unit early?
Event prices are flat and are not prorated. On long-term rentals, ending early stops the next 28-day cycle; the current cycle is not refunded.
Do you charge a deposit?
We do not charge a separate deposit. The rental is paid when you book to reserve the unit and the date. Business accounts can be invoiced.
Are there fees for damage or vandalism?
Normal wear is on us. Damage beyond normal use, such as fire, graffiti, a unit pushed over on purpose or a missing unit, is billed at repair or replacement cost. Our rental terms list the details.
